OPENING Fundraising Committee
FPA is currently seeking members to join its Fundraising Committee (AKA Development Committee). While experience in fundraising is crucial for this committee, new members do not have to be professional fundraisers, but they should be passionate about unleashing the power of one’s voice to break down barriers between people to build stronger, more empathetic, resilient communities. Good committee members will have broad networks and a willingness to leverage their network to support First Person Arts.
FPA values the presence of a fully engaged fundraising committee because we see donations and volunteerism as powerful statements of support. The Fundraising Committee plays a critical role in generating the resources necessary to support the accomplishment of FPA’s mission, both for the short and the long term.
The Fundraising Committee is composed of members of the Board, as well as staff and non-Board members. Non-board committee membership is a great way to become familiar with the organization before seeking a board appointment.
The role of the committee is primarily to generate financial support from individuals, corporations, sponsors and other sources. This includes planning and implementation of special events, membership drives and support of our major annual event, The First Person Arts Festival. This committee meets monthly.
