About the Event
Four years ago, the greatest storytellers in the Philadelphia region came together to compete for the title of All-Star Champion. Expert storyteller, Nimisha Ladva, came out the victor that day with her story about growing up as an “other” in England.
Well, the time has come for us to give storytellers another chance to win that title. On June 23rd, First Person Arts brings back the All-Star Slam: In the House to our VIRTUAL stage.
With a suggested minimum donation of $5.00, we invite you to pour yourself a cocktail or pop some corn and gather with your family to watch the best storytellers in Philadelphia tell their true personal stories.
The Virtual StorySlams will be shared through ZOOM video conferencing software. Audience members will be able to see and text chat with the host and timekeeper as well as choose audience favorite. After you register for your ticket, you will get an email with the link to join the StorySlam before it starts. To learn more about ZOOM, click here.
The GrandSlam Champions who will be competing in this All-Star Slam are: Jill Booth, Momma Said GrandSlam winner, three-time GrandSlam winner Steve Clark, whose last GrandSlam win was Growing Pains, GK Jayaram, who came to the First Person Arts stage last year and won the hearts of us all with his GrandSlam win at Bottom of the Barrel, another three-time GrandSlam winner Marjorie Winthur who, slew us in Untamed, and last but certainly not least, Nimisha Ladva returns to defend her title.
This night of amazing and talented storytellers will be hosted by the charming and debonair Chris Lundy who is one of the most popular hosts at First Person Arts.
