About the Event

Have you ever thought about putting your name in the First Person Arts Slam bucket but stopped yourself? This class is to unstop you! SlamCamp for Beginners is designed for beginners but is open to all storytellers who have an interest in hearing how to find a story from life, how to shape that story, and how to tell that story so people will not just listen, but be moved. Come prepared to work! There will be audience participation!

Nimisha Ladva is a writer and storyteller. Her stories have been broadcast on NPR’s Newsworks and Commonspace programs, and on RISK!, Smart Talk, and other podcasts. She has won multiple story slams with both The Moth and First Person Arts and has also been a GrandSlam winner with both.

Watch the story that landed Nimisha Ladva her latest GrandSlam Crown!

Rush Tickets are available for students with a valid school ID thirty minutes prior to showtime.   The rush line will begin one hour before showtime.   Cash only.
