About the Event

Are feelings of displacement and alienation echoes of the longing Adam and Eve felt upon their exile from Eden? Osman’s work is a lyric and exegetic response to problems of race, gender, displacement, and colonialism. She is also the author of The Kitchen-Dweller’s Testimony (2015), winner of a Sillerman First Book Prize. Osman’s writing has been translated into over 10 languages. She currently lives in Brooklyn. 

 

FOLLOWING THE ARTIST'S READING WILL BE A STORY CIRCLE FACILITATED BY FIRST PERSON ARTS WHERE NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES OF BECOMING PHILADELPHIANS.
