As founder and Executive Director of First Person Arts, Vicki Solot added vitality and innovation to Philadelphia’s rich cultural scene since 2000. Under her leadership, First Person Arts has presented inspiring work by exceptional performers, authors, filmmakers and visual artists. It has nurtured the talents of emerging artists who are pushing the boundaries of personal storytelling, while giving voice to everyday people whose stories are seldom heard.

In honor of her retirement, First Person Arts supporters have joined together to launch a challenge grant effort to establish the Vicki Solot Fund for Creative Innovation reflecting Vicki’s desire to ensure that First Person Arts has the means to continue forging new territory in the field of memoir and documentary art. The fund will be used to support new First Person Arts initiatives and to make an annual award to an emerging artist or organization for groundbreaking work.
