FOUND: The Denim and Diamonds tour
Occasionally, when we tell people about Found Magazine, they don’t quite get it. “You mean they collect trash?” Yes, in a manner of speaking. But what trash! On May 5th, the official launch date of their new book Requiem for a Paper Bag, the Rothbarts will perform at the Philadelphia Arts Bank at 601 S. Broad St. sharing stories (and songs!) about Found stuff from some pretty famous folks. If you don’t have the great fortune of membership in Found Magazine’s mailing list, you might not have seen their announcement. Feast your eyes!
Are You the One?
FOUND by Katie Walenter in New Orleans, Louisiana:
I just wanted to say hello. Are you the one sending text messages to Thaddeus asking him if he’s going to the gold mine? I’m just curious. He’s married to me and I think you are way out of line!

What up everybody — we just wanted to say hello… and implore you to stop texting Thaddeus!
We’ve got a couple of quick, exciting updates for all of you. Our new FOUND book, Requiem for a Paper Bag, comes out on May 5th — it’s a bit different from the last couple of FOUND books and all the FOUND magazines For this book, we decided to ask our favorite writers, musicians, artists, and entertainers to share stories with us of their most memorable finds. You can read Seth Rogen’s hilariously lurid tale from the new book right now on the FOUND Blog.
Every week leading up to May 5th, we’ll post another story from the book. The amazing list of contributors includes Chuck D, Sarah Vowell, Andy Samberg, Susan Orlean, Patton Oswalt, PostSecret’s Frank Warren, Tom Robbins, Dave Eggers, Miranda July, Jonathan Lethem, Chuck Klosterman, David Simon (The Wire), Jenji Kohan (Weeds), Katherine Dunn, Jim Carroll, Jesse Thorn (The Sound of Young America), Andrew Bird, Kori Gardner (Mates of State), Mike Schank (American Movie), and dozens of other fantastic folks — write us at info@foundmagazine.com or simply reply to this email and let us know whose story you’d most like to see! We’re just curious. And please check out the entire book — we’re hugely excited about it, and you can order a copy now on Amazon or pick it up at your favorite bookstore starting May 5th.
And, while we’ve scrapped plans to scope the gold mine with Thaddeus, we ARE celebrating the new book with our biggest FOUND tour in 5 years! On April 27th, FOUND’s Davy and Peter Rothbart are jumping back in the FOUND van, bringing their rowdy live show to 55 cities around the U.S. and Canada. Take a look at our tour schedule, mark your calendars, and please let your friends in other cities know that we’re headed their way! Just announced: for ten special West Coast stops, the Rothbart Brothers will be joined by the lovely Watson Twins. There’s also a few remaining cities where we could use some help setting up our FOUND show and finding the right venue… check that info out below.
All right, we’ve got some more way-out-of-line texts to squeeze out, so we’ll cut it short for now. Drop us a line anytime at info@foundmagazine.com — we always love hearing from you. Thank you to everyone who’s been helping us set up and spread word about the upcoming tour, and thanks to everybody who’s been flooding us with so many wonderful finds the past couple of months! You guys rock hard, like Seth Rogen after his life-changing find!
Hope to see you all soon!
