Community Writing Project
The First Person Community Writing Project is a series of free writing workshops consisting of six 2-hour writing sessions, provided to groups who would otherwise not have access to programs of this kind. These workshops create a supportive setting in which participants can share their life stories, while also giving them the tools to write these stories. Participants have included at-risk youth, prison inmates and senior citizens in nursing homes.
If community groups want to partner with First Person Arts on a Community Writing Project, contact Dan Gasiewski. If the six-week commitment is too demanding for some participants, FPA will consider the option of offering the course as a four-week series.
