Gourmet Magazine editor-in-chief Ruth Reichl is the guest of honor at a sumptuous fourcourse
dinner at highly-praised Supper Restaurant — and you’re invited! You’ll sample fresh
and local food prepared by chef Mitch Prensky, who offers his own take on recipes from
the new Gourmet Now cookbook. As you drink and dine on fine cuisine, you’ll hear about
Reichl’s fascinating life and get a “first taste” of the 2009 First Person Festival from one of

Ruth Reichl joined Gourmet Magazine in 1999 after a six-year tenure as restaurant
critic at
The New York Times and, before that, at The Los Angeles Times. As a chef and
restaurant owner, she was part of the Berkeley, CA food revolution. She is the acclaimed
author of four food memoirs,
Tender at the Bone, Comfort Me with Apples, Garlic and
Sapphires, and Not Becoming My Mother, and editor of The Modern Library Food Series.

Supper is a seasonal Modern American restaurant with a casual and comforting dining
atmosphere. Proprietor and
Chef Mitch Prensky is a graduate of the French Culinary
Institute and alumnus of such prestigious Manhattan restaurants as L’Ecole, Le Chantilly,
Mesa Grill, March and Daniel. He is a member of the Chef’s Collaborative for Sustainable
Agriculture and the Philadelphia Fair Food Project. His wife and partner
Jennifer London
Prensky
is a veteran of the famed Philadelphia restaurant, Striped Bass.
