First Person Arts - 2009 Internships

1 - Digital Media Production assistant (2-3 spaces available)  — Interns are needed to help catalog, edit, and publish media recorded at the 2008 First Person Festival to our blog, YouTube, Viddler, etc., as well as to record, edit and publish material from our 2009 First Person Story Slams and Salons.
This internship will recur each semester.

2 - Competition coordinator (1-2 spaces available) — from March 5-June 5, 2009, First Person Arts will run our 8th annual “First Impressions” competition for the best memoir writing, documentary filmmaking, and photography.  One (or possible two) interns are needed to help coordinate entrant’s legal releases, conduct outreach for the competition, catalog entries, supervise and log two rounds of judging, and coordinate final dissemination of the winners’ products through various partner’s websites and publications.
This internship will recur each semester.

3 - Marketing Assistant (1-2 spaces available) — marketing interns will work closely with our Marketing and Promotions associate in the production of campaigns and materials promoting First Person Arts’ programming throughout the year.
This internship will recur each semester.

4 - Social Marketing Assistant (1-2 spaces available) — Social marketing interns will work closely with our Marketing and Promotions associate in the production of a wide range of social marketing projects, including blog entries, blog/website networking and cross-promotion, MySpace and Facebook updates and marketing, Twitter, etc.
This internship will recur each semester.

5 - Internship assistant - (1 space available) — The internship assistant will work with the Managing Director to coordinate internship assignments, working with various schools and volunteer organizations to ensure that First Person Arts is consistently listed as an internship opportunity throughout the region, and to ensure the smooth transition of work as one intern leaves and another picks up the same job.
This internship will recur each semester.  In September - November, we will need 2 interns to supervise office volunteers and Festival volunteers for November.

6 - Salon Coordinator (1 space available) — The Salon Coordinator will work closely with the staff in outreach to, selection of, and technical coordination with artists for First Person Arts’ monthly artists’ Salon series.  The ideal applicant will be familiar with Philadelphia’s arts and culture scene, and will have a knowledge of or contacts with a wide variety of artists and arts organizations.  Production experience is helpful but not required.

7 - Programming Assistant (1 space available) — The Programming assistant will work closely with our President in the solicitation and cataloguing of work from artists who are under consideration for inclusion in the 2009 First Person Festival of Memoir and Documentary Art.
This internship will recur each semester.

8 - Development Assistant (2 spaces available) — Development interns will assist our Development manager in the creation and execution of membership/donation campaigns, and the creation and execution of special “members-only” events throughout the year.
This internship will recur each semester.
