About one third of the audience members scored all of the storytellers at last night’s slam, and when all the scores were tallied, Michael McCarry, the first storyteller of the night was the audience favorite!

It’s the luck of the draw, but you’re right, he’s due for a better seed. Interestingly, the 2008 Grand Slam winner, Ryan T Barlow actually went first during the monthly slam that he won. So it’s possible.
